I just had my baby girl a week ago, we found out she had high levels of Bilirubin. We were told to feed more often and more to help get them out of her system. Now she is doing better, but we were told we are over feeding her. They said to just take the bottle away after 2oz (she has been eating almost 4oz). But its so hard to watch her yell because she is still hungry. Anyone have any ideas?

If we do feed her more till she stops crying then she ends up throw up some of it. Which also upsets her.

If shes hungry I would still feed her. We have an 8 month old and when she was that age, if she ate more than 2oz we let her have it we just made sure she got at least 2oz. Good luck

I agree, dont feed her just a certain amount, feed on demand. If she is hungry, feed her, cause if you dont she is going to scream. My doctors told me I was overfeeding so I fed her less, her weight dropped rapidly and she was constantly crying. In the end we realised she was hungry, I nearly starved my 3 week old baby to death because of what THEY said. She is now 7 weeks old and a happy baby, you will learn when she has had enough to eat, it gets better!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh yeah get an actual doctor instead of the quack you're seeing. No offense but a lot of newborns can eat 4 oz bottles. Give her what she asks for. She's used to the bigger portions so that's why she's crying for more. Go with your instinct, most doctor's I've noticed are quacks anyway.

Offer her a paci to suck on after every oz. Let her eat as much as she wants. Sometimes the teeny ones want to suck for comfort and aren't hungry. But if sh'e hungry, feed her! And find a new doctor!

Huh, sounds like a load of rubbish to me. Let her have the 4 ozs but see if you can extend the time between feeds maybe. I'd be looking for further advice in your shoes, to be honest.
