If this doesn't highlight how the whole thing is just a big media circus, nothing does. He doesn't care about finding Madeleine. He's just out there to give the biggest scoop to the media organisation who presumably probably 'donates' the most amount of money to the fund.
This is a quote from Greta Van Susteren, a Fox News reporter in the US.
"We could not air it last night — we wanted to air it last night but Dr. McCann asked us to hold the interview for 24 hours as a condition for doing the interview. I suspect he promised some other network the first interview and thus the requirement that we hold our interview for 24 hours. "
I thought he wanted to publicise Madeleine's disappearance to everyone. Not play one media outlet against another by offering an 'exclusive'.
Can you believe he actually told people 'NOT' to run a story until it was at a time he was happy with.

Is he holding on for the highest bidder?
He's disgusting, he should be grateful that people want to air his er erm erm plea for Madeleine's return - oh and a request for donations also.

This whole thing is way out of control. They should come out of their denial shell and face the fact of what is really happening here. Everything they do is not going to bring Madeleine back.

Interesting how at the bottom of the article it says "Yes, I read your e-mails and yes, many people continue to wonder why Madeleine's parents left the children alone that night... and some e-mailers want the parents prosecuted for doing so." Why can't our British media at least acknowledge the same thing and voice what a lot of people are thinking - that they should not have left their kids alone and an enquiry should be made into this.

For all those folks who want to help the McCanns, Gerry has come up with a special fund.
The "Campaign About Saving Her" welcomes donations from those seeking justice and the location of Madeleine.
Please make your checks payable to the following fund Campaign About Saving Her or you can just use the initials C.A.S.H. for speed.
Send the cheques to Garry and Kate McCann care of their parents in the UK.

why would they want to vet the questions asked of Gerry McCann?
Could it be because he might have a slip of the tongue and descriminate himself?
Or maybe they don't trust him not to put his foot in it by answering the wrong question with the wrong answer.

No it does not surprise me. He wanted to 'sell' to the highest bidder. Madeleine does not even come into this any more except to raise more and more money. Nice one Wake up Sheepie, that had not occurred to me.

this man is an out and out control freak!
good point Jack H, maybe that will start the ball rolling
edit
thanks for that link Dave, just watched the video link with Gerry being interviewed - really interesting, especially how he avoids speaking about his feelings - he is a master of that - and also, when the interviewer states 'she's cute!' his reply was 'Yeah, well', and thats it!!
i (sort of) understand why, he avoided talking about how beautiful she is but FFS man, show us your human!

Another example of Gerry's media control .. he probably got a huge fee for the first interview ...
If this does not highlight what a calculated .. manipulative and money orientated father he is then what will?
I see as well Gerry is flouting his credentials in a bid to break America . .well the uk is wise to his grand plans after all

It just gets worse and worse and I've run out of ways to express my disgust at this awful man.
Hopefully his arrogance, self importance, conceit and innate stupidity will eventually be his undoing.
Nit picky I know but I see he is still be described as a cardiac consultant. Shouldn't that be 'ex' or 'retired'?

Nothing surprises me any more Dave. I honestly think Gerry suffers from narcissistic personality disorder. Check out the definition:
Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance and an extreme preoccupation with one's self.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors: The cause of this disorder is unknown. Narcissistic personality disorder usually begins by early adulthood and is marked by disregard for the feelings of others, grandiosity, obsessive self-interest, and the pursuit of primarily selfish goals.
Symptoms: A person with narcissistic personality disorder:
Reacts to criticism with feelings or rage, shame, or humiliation
Takes advantage of others to achieve own goals
Has feelings of self-importance
Exaggerates achievements and talents
Is preoccupied with fantasies of success, power, beauty, intelligence, or ideal love
Has unreasonable expectations of favorable treatment
Requires constant attention and admiration
Lacks empathy
Signs and tests: Personality disorders are diagnosed based on a psychological evaluation and the history and severity of the symptoms.
Treatment: Psychotherapy may help the affected person relate to others in a more positive and compassionate manner.
Expectations (prognosis): The outcome varies with the severity of the disorder.
Complications:
Relationship and family problems
Alcohol or other drug dependency
Does Gerry actually NOT fit even one of those conditions?
