Since this is all time low for the dollar (vs. Euro), should everyone (in Europe) for instance be investing in dollars since it has nowhere to go but up? And so, ideally, shouldn't this be simply a passing phase?

Really, i sometimes wonder why the currency of the most viable economy in the world is not doing very well against the Euro. However i do know that certains indices determine the values of currencies, the most important being demand and supply.

Yes, for institutional investors in Europe, there has never been a better opportunity to invest in the U.S.

Again, yes. This is a passing face. The low value of the Dollar is good for the American economy presently as it will help to boost export, reduce or overturn its balance of trade deficit and checkmate the economic monster that China is beginning to be.

The government likes a falling dollar because it fuels the Dow Jones. Many major Standard and Poors 500 companies have their base in other countries.

Where will the dollar bottom out? It can still fall further. Speculation can be dangerous. Falling dollar great for exporters but no good for importers. Great for industries which compete with OS industries too.

It is not falling, it is just that others are catching up, it happens..
