Then as now, they go for the shock effect to journalism, and will sensationalize regardless of the truth..The Libs are quick to apply labels, before they identify.

The liberal media should have showered the man in flowers, instead of demonizing him. And by doing what they did, he has received a bad rap throughout history. Those that know little about him can only remember these idiotic portrayals by the media.
General Patton's 3rd Army put terror into the hearts of the German Wehrmacht, but also into the feared German SS units. German SS soldiers who survived the war stated how ruthless Patton was in his attacks. And rightly so, he was trying to end the war and bring victory to the U.S.
The soldier that was slapped was shell shocked. Patton was an old soldier from World War I, and his father was a General in the U.S. Civil War. He came from military stock. Perhaps this soldier didn't. In Pattons mind, no one needed to be in the rear at a medical unit while other men were giving their lives at the front. So if you weren't wounded, you needed to be with your unit. He attempted to shame the man into returning to the front lines. It backfired. At least in the eyes of the media. They blew the entire incident out of proportion. Patton was later ordered to apologize, which he did.
Today, the media has gone as far as helping and giving aid to our enemies. The media is no longer the source for reporting the news, but promoting agendas. And the harm they do, especially to our troops is catastrophic.

What rock have you been sleeping under for the last 50 years???? The liberal media has been attacking the United States non-stop since the start of the Korean War!! They do so because of a self perceived sense of superiority, and a heavy slant towards communism/ socialism {what they think is best for us "naive" underlings}. Unfortunately they are too full of themselves, and to ignorant of history, to realize that should the United States ever fall under a socialistic or communistic government, THEY ARE THE FIRST ONES, that will be lined up in front of firing squads. Ignorance is bliss.

Just because you are at war does not mean that your leaders should be given a blank cheque to behave whatever way they want. Why did right wing Americans such as Charles Lindberg idolise the Nazis and agree with many of their policies. These people actually wanted Germany to win the war and only went along with the fight against the Nazis after Germany declared war on the US on December 11th 1941.

BTW - why do todays Republicans talk about it being unpatriotic to criticise the president during military operations - when he's NOT involved in miltary operations, he's having a BBQ for his right wing buddies at his ranch?
