Fully conscious computer parts would be part of mans demise.

As this is in biology i take it your referring to bionic theories. If you had a fully conscious bionic arm then technically it would be independent from the rest of your body.

How long before the arm or similar parts dictated your actions.

And if you want to be really far fetched how long before something inevitably as sophisticated as that can reprogramme a biological entity like ourselves.

Sure the physical attributes would be immense, but we would eventually lose all aspects of humanity, good & bad.

Interesting concept ..

Computer 'natural selection' == selection of the system most capable and flexible to play the 'best' (most realistic) games :-)

Since many games involve simulation of opponents, yes, it's quite possible that 'natural selection' will single out the computers most able to play a good "shoot 'em up" game by simulating human players ..
