Why should any indian citizen must rely on any president to look after our problems?

because the citizen are of different cast and religion and a person is needed to lead selected citizen to solve their problem and see that no other person gets a problem on solving one and people themselves have got allot work to do and they can not by themselves do such work therefore a trained experienced person should guide them.

Indian president is a ceremonial figurehead from whom a citizen should expect nothing.
