What about Geomag? You can build some awesome structures, and you probably would want to keep it for yourself.

This is the main website - www.thegeomagstore.com

I would use Kelkoo or Froogle to get it cheaper. I found some on The Entertainer Website that was half price - www.theentertainer.com

My brother will be 17, and that past 5 years he's had money and gift vouchers (which he enjoys spending) or clothes. My best advice is either take him shopping and other to bye him something (give him a budget) or get him gift vouchers for his favourite stores. You can always get something small for a surprise - I think mine had a geometry set because he kept borrowing mine).

My grandson asked me for a camera for his 10th birthday - says he wants to use photoshop on his computer and print his own photographs. Would that be something to interest your brother.
You don't say how much you have to spend or what his interests are. Maybe if you edit your question, we could come up with more ideas.

I would suggest giving him money, then he can buy whatever he wants! Or you could ask him if he wants anything in particular, if he gives you a list of things, ask around the family to see what they are getting, then choose something that is appealing that you know he would like!

Does he have any hobbies? A video game maybe? Or a cool gadgety thing from Firebox or IWOOT. Maybe a transformers toy if he likes the new film?

That is really too bad......that you don't know him enough to buy him a great gift. Any 12 yr old want's a new Xbox or PS3, but why don't you know him well enough to buy something that means something to him.
