I don't that's why I am in the R&B and Soul category, can you read? This is a rock question! But I understand how you came to this category for more intelligent minds to answer your question! I mean can you really trust someone's opinion, when their idea of music is someone screaming at them, I mean seriously!

It used to be It Dies Today but thier new cd just wasn't as good as The Catiff Choir, I'd say as of right now it's Avenged Sevenfold or As I Lay Dying. Atreyu,Misery Signals, Shai Halud, I Killed the Promqueen,Norma Jean, Unearth, Haste The Day are all great too though.

Early IN FLAMES or AMON AMARTH. But if you really want to go old school go with POSSESSED the guitar playin was awesome or even older than that early VENOM.
