I think I would contact paypal and ask them if the funds came from an authorized transaction or how long you should wait to send the item if your unsure, or whats this risks to you are if this was to happen. They might be using credit cards, buying and reversing the charges right away so they get your stuff for free, in hopes that you ship it immediately before paypal puts a hold on it for further investigation.

Hmmm difficult. Not all UK addresses aer easily verified, to be honest. Check out the feedback for your buyer carefully - and when you send the item, get the optional extra postage insurance! Make sure you cover the item to its full value. The at least you have proof of postage if anything happens.

The other alternative is to post your question on Q & A - community boards. Some very good people on there who will be able to help you.

Absolutely. This is actually one of the original scams. Avoid! Edit: I didn't read the rest properly, so the person won the auction and they haven't paid yet? Has he emailed you about accepting a wire transfer or anything like that? If so, then yes it's a scam. If he pays with Paypal and it is a confirmed address and you are willing to ship out of country then there should be no problem.

I wouldn't send him anything. And if he really cares about what he's buying and wants to get it he will file a complaint with paypal. Then they will investigate it. That way you know exactly what the intentions are.

Don't mail him this item. PERIOD. Its best policy anyway to not send items to unconfirmed addresses. Did he pay with a credit card? If so, really don't do it.

You need to contact ebay immediately and explain everything in detail. You do not want to place yourself into any undue legal liabilities.
