I think its a cool name :-) If I were you, i would say just "bhavani" when you meet someone at your free time, eg on the party etc and i would use bhavani shankar at work or official meetings. If it is appropriate, i would say someting like My name is Bhavani, but my firends usually call me...(tell your nick)

You have to tell your friends your full name, because Bhavani alone sounds female and Shankar is not exactly your name. Bhavani Shankar is such a nice name, and it sounds like a name of a very serious and intelligent guy.

Bhavani Shankar is a good name. It means both Bhavani and also Shankar. Goddess Bhavani and Lord Shankar are joined together as the ARDHANAAREESHWAR.. So please identify yourself as Bhavani Shankar.Bhavaani is the correct spelling as we pronounce it as BHAVA ANI. Bhaava+Vaani=mind and voice of Shankar.
