I've heard- but any Indians on here could probably explain it better than an American- that arranged marriages are actually more successful, because it's not about the FEELING of love, but about the ACTION of love, which is treated as a duty. Here in America we think love is only a feeling, and once that feeling goes away that is the end of love. But if you choose to love someone and take care of them, and act lovingly to them, that is true love. I think an arranged marriage where there is both the feeling and the commitment would be the best. The feeling comes and goes, though.
