Like A.Nik says, I cant be bothered with WSB , but I dont think I have ever said why.
I think the biggest problem is Flammini. The one make tyre (or tire for 51 !! ) my have made the racing closer, but its the first step I feel on the downwards slope.
Company's like Michelin, Bridgestone & Dunlop throw a massive amount of money not only in to there R&D but into the race tracks them selfs. All the 4 main tyre manufactors were consulted in the resent resurfacing of Laguna Seca for instance. If you have a track that is only hosting W.S.B rounds they will miss out on alot of track sponsorship. This is no good.
My other reason, Is I hate seen riders with such amazing talents messing about, when there talents are so needed in MOTOGP. Yes I know you are always going to get also rans, but who would not want to see Haga, Corser, To52land, Bayliss & even that pain in the butt Max racing in Motogp rather then, Tamada/Hoffman/Checa/Roberts/ ???
Give these top WSB riders the right gear and lets start 2008 they way it should be!
...................... also the bikes dont look as nice!
For the best looking Superbikes, take a look at the Suzuka 8HR bike this Sunday. WOW. Honda all the way for this one.

Hey A.nik,
I would find it hard to choose between them.
Wiggy makes some interesting points about the tyre situation - and I understand that you have to make concessions to keep manufacturers (Ducati!) interested in pouring that amount of money into racing, so I say it's better they spend that money on improving their products and giving us some great racing (that's where I agree with 51) than spend it on some crappy advertising campaign.
However, I love motogp as you do get the feeling that you are watching bikes at the cutting edge of engineering & design etc. and that many of the things seen in motogp will soon be on road bikes ( fly by wire, slipper clutches, inverted forks, engine mapping ) If you like the geeky stuff it's fascinating.
I don't think they always have the best riders though, and thats where the superbikes feed into the sport - by giving them a bigger talent pool to dive into (& us endless speculation during silly season guessing who's going wher)
No ones mentioned the British superbikes which I also enjoy (same format as WSBK - 2 races + superstock and other cups) which has the added bonus of being run round some of the older and madder courses in the UK - that can be seriously hairy for riders, and attracts some international talent as a showcase for their skills eg. Lavilla and Kiyonari (who cracks me up - plus I think he's been chosen to pair with Toseland in the 8 hour this week!)

Will take you to their wesite - have a look at some of the courses. Stuff of legend (and soggy bacon butties)

I like them both. Hopefully harley will enter the motogp ranks soon so maybe curtis roberts will have a ride.
How about old run it He's an ex motogp star.
In fact he knows so much that the Gp bikes spin out of the corners.
Weird, I know because they are all running traction control these days.
To quote Roger Lee
"riding is different than my superbike because you can whack the throttle wide open mid corner and it won't spin it just drives out"
So much for you Superstar statement

thats a close one for me.I have so many favorite riders in WSBK a the new tire rule has made the racing so much better.
Motogp is an excellent series as well. I have many favorites as in there as well. The funny thing is I'm in the states and I really do not like the AMA
come on blag the duc is down 20-30 hp they are given a special throttlebody ruling now that will be taken away it's the right thing to do
wiggy
I am all for that lineup can you make it happen?

I enjoy watching the Superbikes. I have been to some of the races and they are so much fun to watch, mainly because the bikes are so closely related to the bikes that are actually sold. Moto GP is also fun to watch, but the bikes are so different from regular streetbikes. That's the main draw to Superbikes.

MotoGP, sure the tire rule in WSBK has made it more interesting and not a series won by the best tire manufacturer of the day, but the fact they keep giving an advantage to Ducati (going to the 1098 cc next season) when they are already competitive made me swear off WSBK for next year.

If I answer this question, I would be repeating 51's answer! He said it!
I think its the tyre rule that really made WSB racing what it is now.
But if I had to pick ONLY one, it would be MotoGP.

HORSEPOWER TO WEIGHT RATIO , MOTO GP BABY, YOU DON'T RIDE THE BIKE YOU POINT IT, BIKE IS CONTROLLED WITH THE THROTTLE, CAUSING THE REAR TIRE TO BREAK LOOSE, WHICH MEANS STEERING THE BIKE WITH THROTTLE, OR THROTTLE STEERING, FRONT END IS WASHED OUT THEN IS PICKED UP WITH THE REAR WHEEL SPIN ,I KNOW BECAUSE I'VE DONE IT !
