I forgot what package it is, but in madden the patriots have a special defensive package in which all of their players stand up except for like 1, who is in the 3 pt stance. What's the purpose of having all your players stand up, even your d-line? It takes away from the leverage you otherwise can get.

The purpose, like all their schemes is to confuse the opponent. With One down linemen and 5-7 line backers, the opposing offensive linemen don't know who they have to block, and the quarterback doesn't know who will bw rushing him, or who will be covering his receivers

Just a note, I believe this was only run in one game in real life, for two plays against the Miami Dolphins in 2002 or so.

cause you can't tell who's rushing or who's dropping in to coverage. they have so many versatile d-linemen and linebackers that they can all do both well. and they don't run that defense every play...
