A second marriage isn't necessary, but that doesn't mean someone can't get married a second time. I found an absolutely wonderful man for my second (which is my current) DH. The first marriage wasn't a "trial run", sometimes things happen beyond your control. My current DH was a widower.
In response to RAYS GIRL - so, if your husband committed bigamy like my first husband did, you would stay? I think not... try not to be so judgmental when you don't know the reason why someone had to get a divorce, and just be glad that they found love a second time.

I was married for 26 years and divorced recently and I think the only time apart from really being in love that a second marriage is necessary is when you feel that it is the final step in moving on and having total closure of the last life. Some of us need to be totally cut from the previous life and a new last name can do just that for some of us.

people only get married because they love each other, want to be together for a long time,.... or any other reason... but never out of neccesity.
Especially not for a Divorcee :-D

Nope, alot of people realize after a first failed marriage that marriage isnt for them.. and if its not for them, then no one should ever be able to force you into something ur heart isnt into , marriage is hard enough when u go into it whole heartedly..

No, and apparently the first one wasn't necessary either.

Depends. If you really want it, you think he loves you and you love him too, go for it.

Why would it be? Unless you're hopelessly co-dependent.
