I have been a nanny for a family for three years. I recently met one of the families really close freinds and have watched the kids a few times so the couples could go out together. I kept telling the friends that they should let me watch their kids sometime. (the only person who does is the ladies mom and she is older and its hard on her) I talked to them tonight and we decided I would watch them saturday for the day, possible overnight. What Im wondering is, should I get paid? I really dont care if I dont, Im just not sure what is expected since I voluntereed... HELP!!

Watching the kids once in a while is a nice favor, but
don't you think your generousity is being abused?
A few hours now & then OK.
A whole day of your time? Overnight?
You offered, so this is another freebie, but this is your job and you should be paid for it.

Is the Pope a Catholic? Of course, you should get paid. After all, being a nanny is your job!

Such things are agreed prior to accepting the job....right now its no pay...she may offer you something when they pick up the kids ....take it you would have earned it
