...and, you still gain the future knowledge of that figure from 21st century! That means you REALLY know all about that figure, and you can avoid all his/her error in history!

You could be NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, avoiding being slaughtered by General Winter of Russia, conquering Great Britain, founding European Union centuries earlier.
Or, you could be ADOLF HITLER, avoiding confrontation with the Red Army, focusing on Western Front and Battle of Britain.
Or, you could be HANNIBAL OF CARTHAGO, succesfully driving Roman Troops, pre-emptiving their strikes to hearts of Roman Empire.
Or, you could be GENERAL CORNWALLIS, commanding Red Coats to ensure the failure of American Revolution, and the downfall of United States of America.
Or... whatever!! You could be anyone, anytime!!!

UNLIMITED POSSIBILITY!! What do you think then? Which figure and why? What would you do as that figure?

The Roman Emperor Augustus: As the founder of the Roman Empire, I would increase the size of the army, expand more aggressively to the east, draw increased tribute and taxes from new territories to fund the expansion of the army and state, and take special care to keep the Praetorian Guard under control. As the state became stronger, I would expand further into Germany and take Britain two generations sooner than it was taken in our history. As I grew older, I would take great pains to teach Tiberius how to present a better image of himself to the people. I don't know whether I would be able to expand all the way to central Asia, but I could leave my empire strong enough that my successors could. As the Goths and Huns moved westward they would be faced with huge legions in place to defeat them, as I would have brought many mercenary bowmen into my army and used them to train my native legionnaires. By maintaining firm control of North Africa, the Middle East and Mesopotamia I would hope to be able to prevent the divisions and hostilities of various religions originated there: The Jews would be citizens, the Christians would not be persecuted, but neither would they come to dominate the empire later, and when the Muslims arose they would be another tolerated theology, rather than a growing empire in opposition to the West.

I suppose my empire would break up at some point, but that would probably be much later than it came in our own history.

I ahve always had a 'soft spot' for Harold of Wessex and never did warm up to Wlliam the B st rd - - - so if I were Harold I would have rested my soldiers for several days and gathered as many archers as possible and then kicked Williams's keister. Then Engand would have Remained 'Saxon,' Democracy would have flourished Early and the Renaissance would have begin in England during the eleven or twelve hundreds.

Hands down, I'd be Benjamin Franklin. He was highly intelligent, and discovered and/or invented many things we rely upon, even today. He had lots of fun with the ladies, and had a great time when he lived in France, plus he was influential politically. He was a true renaissance man.

I would be Michael Jackson so that way I could keep making hits without molesting boys or getting caught in situations where it would seem I am molesting boys. I'd also stay black and keep my nose unmodified.

or... as Amadeus Mozart, I would spend time learning martial arts so I could kick whoever tried to murder me in the balls then hip toss them out a window into some pointy rosebushes...
