Go for it.
It is the 21st century!
Online dating is where it is AT.
My niece and several Friends met their husbands on-line.
I hate bars and, except for the very few, don't care for the kinds of people who hang there.
I have met lots of great guys on-line.
But I do not like the "chat rooms".
It appears as if those are filled with people who do not participate in life. They talk about it a lot though.
{ I know I should not classify people but in my mind, I think of them as losers} How can you participate when you are on-line 24/7?
I prefer the 'fee' sites,:IE Yahoo Personals, Match.com, American Singles.
If people pay to send and receive email they are more likely to be genuinely seeking someone. The chat rooms are free.
--I am very choosy.
- I know he doesn't make over $100,000 when he only graduated High School. [ I know.....there are the exceptions]
--I am particular.
-Why would I date a guy who posts pictures of himself with his fat belly hanging out?[ I don't care if he DOES make six figures.]
--I am also, NOT naive.
Thank you very much, I think we can meet at Starbucks. And sometime in the future you can pick me up at my home.
For the most part I have had ALL good experiences.
Some I have dated several times.
And some I would not see again.
You're probably asking...
Why aren't you married or dating a steady guy?
I am very particular.
I am very successful in my life.
I will not accept anything but another successful guy.
I will keep looking on-line also.

I met someone through chat. I looked at yahoo personals for my area and found some that I knew. The one claimed to gross 100,000 a year. Yeah right... You can be anything you want on her. The good thing is that you can pick out the good from the bad, if you look for it. If your looking for a relationship, dismiss anyone that isn't up to par. I found going into chat by location was helpful. I went into a PA chat room and met local people or ones that were hours from me. One night I was leaving a chat room and saw this person with a normal log in name. It was very plain. At the last minute I clicked on him and took him with me. We have talked everyday since. I couldn't have found a more loving/caring person. We plan on being married by the end of the year. Be careful, be picky, but have fun and give it a try.

I think it completely depends, and it can be really risky but it can also be a really cool thing. I met this girl about 8 months ago from Brazil online in a forum thingy, and now I spend hours talking to her and exchanging pics on Instant messanger and using microphone and every time I talk to her I cant stop laughing, and we have a really good time. In that case, I knew she wasnt an interent weirdo. Sometimes you just know, but just make sure you give no personal information to them, even if you think you can trust them. You just never know. I went to penpalparty.com and got a pen pal from Germany! Thats a good place to meet someone online, plus everyone there wants a pen pal and schools use it and its not a creepy place at all. My pen pal is really really nice. But now I have 2 people that i've met online and they both are really really nice people. I guess it completely depends

Hi, I have faith in meeting people online as long as you take it slowly and keep checking the facts. That way you can catch the liars out rather quickly and weed out those who are in it for giggles. Free sites are worse than paid membership sites, but the weirdos get credit cards too!

I have used online dating services and have found them rather tricky, people do present a reflection of themselves at after time appears to be more imagination than reality.

Online chatting is a great way to practise your social skills and to learn to chit chat, and that makes socialising a little easier.

Good luck!

Do u mean where to meet people online, or where to meet people whom you know online for the first time? It's unclear... anyways

I go IRC to make friends... after some time of interaction, maybe also through phone, then if decide he/she quite nice, then we go out...
I have been going out with a couple of them for many years and we are still good friends.

It depends on you. I met my husband on myspace. Yes, we chatted like forever online. Then one night told me to call him. When I sw the number I realized it was a local number from my area by the area code. I always thought he lived in another state. Anyways, I called him, we met and we have been in love ever since. We are now working on our first child. Overall it depends on what you are looking for

I personally don't like the idea...You never know who is REALLY on the other side of the computer...People create personalities on the computer that may not actually be theirs in real life...

Exercise extreme caution if you plan on meeting people on-line!

Best Wishes to you!

At least in a bar you know what the person really looks like.
