Dude, I had a master plan, I begged and begged for a Tiny Tears doll that came in a little pink suitcase that had white little daisies on it. Christmas came and I got the doll!! I promptly gave the doll to my little sister, packed my bag and hit the road. I only made it 3 blocks the first time, but soon I ran away so often that my mother would pack my lunch and say good luck to me as I left. At 14 I moved into a tent in the back yard for 3 weeks and at 15 left permanently and I never spent a day home again. I have always been that independent! Hey, I'm feelin' it; Time to Hit The Road, Jack!!

In body, no.

In mind, all too many times.
In the dead of the night, lying on a lump disguised as a bed, watching the dancing shadows cast by the candles on the altar. i'd grab the loaf of bread thats meant for breakfast, and cheese, and bring my raincoat, my piggy bank. The door doesnt creak, the lock doesnt need jiggling, but the chain on the gate might be tricky. i'd walk up to the highway not too far from my house, debating whether i should have said a silent goodbye to mom and my baby sisters. Lost in thought, i'd stick out my thumb, international hitchhiking sign they always use on tv.
And get plowed over by a drowsy truck driver.

Usually i just turn over and try to wrestle the lump into submission.

I did. I packed me a sandwich (peanut butter and jelly), wrapped it in a paper towel; packed me a change of clothes, my favorite book, and all the loose change I could find in the house. I walked down a trail in the woods behind my house, sat down and ate my sandwich, read my book for a while, then decided that my mom's pb&j was better so I went home. I was gone for a total of 45 minutes and no one even knew I had left! :)

Ran away twice and attempted several times. The last time finally got me away from her. Have answered questions about this before.

Yes. I was about a block away when I realized I'd have to walk to wherever I decided to go. I was 5. It wasn't very well thought out.

Yes I was 5. I packed my school case with pyjamas and went next door. I mean, mom would never realise that...next door. Obviously I was home within an hour....I was a brat!
