I am seriously thinking about buying a laptop chill mat for my HP pavillion dv6000t. It gets hot, but it doesn't overheat. However, it is sometimes uncomfortably hot on my lap, especially since it is summer. Should I waist my money that I barely have on a chill mat? Are they durable or worth buying? What are the pros and cons of the chill mat?

I recently bought a product called the Lapinator off of Ebay. I got the standard size for $21.95 plus shipping but you can get the larger one for larger laptops for $5.00 more. I can't confirm that it makes the laptop run any cooler, but my legs don't get hot anymore.

LOL my HP is just the same! Honestly, laptops aren't designed to be used on laps!! I try and use mine at a table most of the time - and when its on your lap try not to block the fan access. I wouldn't waste your money to be truthful

Eh, I think you can find a good one for 20 bucks or less. If you're more comfortable at all, than it was a worthwhile buy.
