I'm not sure but If I remember, my back & chest hurt the most, (as of "aftermath pain-keep your tattoo clean & cover it with "Luberaderm"-vasoline will fade it,as of swimming wait about a few weeks or till it's fully healed, as of tiny tats, in America it can cost up to $30.00+ & some can cost nothing but not be the best job. (it's been yrs since I've been to the shops,-good luck)

I can answer them .. hold on
First have a good idea of what you want. Best to find an artist who can create instead of just do a design.
There is no way around it, a tat is a bit ouchie but it is not a horrible pain. Black ink stings the most so consider that when you choose your pattern. The rule of thumb about pain is ... the more flesh between the skin and the bone, the less pain there is.
When considering where to put it consider if you want it exposed every time you open the top button of your collar, or only in the privacy of the boudoir. Do you want to be able to go short sleeved in an elegant business or does it matter? You have to think ahead with a tat. My tatter gave me some inks to take home and apply over a few weeks to see where it worked for me..
So an ankle or close to the bone, ouch. Upper arm, bottom, leg musculature, pectorals ~ relatively painless. I mean, they are needles piercing your flesh but I am also serious in that your tattooist is a specialist and should be watching your pain threshold. Also they use these needles that are electric and move at an incredible speedy precision so pain is minimalized.
He or she will have you relaxed so that within a few pricks of the needle you are not all tensed up. Deep breathe. It really does not hurt much and the pain is minimal and it scabs over and heals quickly if you follow instructions.
Big or small, it makes no difference. I would ask the tattoo person for advice on that one to get the best and latest advice but I image a few days until the scab falls off and the tat is healed over well.
As to cost it varies from artist to artist, salon to salon. You sometimes get what you pay for, sometimes you don't. The best thing to do is TAKE your TIME and peruse the artist/s work and get a feel for their work. See if you are compatible. A responsible tattooist will expect you to take your time because they know a tat is forever.
Personally, I switched over to piercings because I decided tats are forever. Piercings come and go.

I have four all on the top of my back... it doesn't hurt, not to me anyway, it just depends on who you ask really. Theres no "aftermath" pain, it just scabs over, you really don't want to pick the scabs off, just keep gently washing it with soap and water and a soft cloth until it heals, if you pick the scab, you could pick the color out as well, I was never told I couldn't swim in pool water... and in Canadian dollars I have no idea, however in North Carolina where I live, the place I get mine done at starts at $45 (American dollars) ... and all of mine are the same size... about 2 inches in diameter. Hope this helps... oh yea, and they are addictive :D

any place on the bone is going to hurt, so pick a place with lots of padding
the price depends on the person who is doing it and how skilled they are.
there really isn't any after pain, unless it gets infected
