I put on ice for about an hour, and put on a sock brace...but the brace started to hurt my foot, so, I took it off. The foot is in slight pain. Ideas? Suggestions?

Keep putting ice on it, that'll keep the swelling down. Also, wrap it with a tensor bandage. Keep off of it and keep it elevated. Aspirin or Tylenol for the pain.

RICE
R- rest it
I- Ice it
C- compress it with the sock you put on earlier
E- Elevate it...

that's the treatment for a sprained ankle. i would also take motrin as directed (400 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed) to decrease the swelling. and little by little, exercise your ankle and this should hopefully get better in like 3 weeks. if you don't see any improvements, there might be a fracture or something else, so go see a doctor if you dn't see any improvements. good luck!

If it's still hurting you that badly, you may want to consider seeing a doctor.
