The idea of knowing my fate scares me. I'm hoping you'll tell me that I pass out right away.

The only way you'll pass out is if you find yourself in some kind of spinning maneuver where your blood rushes to or out of your head. If you don't do that, you'll be very awake as that big, flat, hard ground comes flying up at you. Judging by altitude of average passenger plane flights, you could be free falling for up to and more than likely a full minute.

FYI, I know a senior parachute instructor in the military who tested a high altitude low opening chute. He jumped out of the plane over France and landed on the Western coast of England. He was awake the entire way down.

Knowing myself, I would probably remain conscious the whole time.

Theoretically I would have though you wouldnt loss consciousness until you either freeze to death (quite quick) or go into shock.. Unless of course you died with the initial blast..

I think it depends on how much of a schock the explosion was. you coudl instanly pass out if it was that much of a shock.
