A selfish person wants everything HIS or HER way. A selfish person will have a dollar to spend with a friend and he spends more on HIMSELF and gives his friend LESS.... It can also mean one who has TOO much of something and keeping it for oneself. Or, in the case of a relationship, a selfish person may want things HIS or her own way or want buy things only that THEY LIKE, or if a MAN and woman both work outside the home and only one comes home and cooks and cleans and takes care of the kids, then the OTHER one would be deemed SELFISH---he'd be deamed a few other more CHOICE WORDS as well, but selfish is just the nicest of them.
