How do u disable the daytime running lamps on a 2002 Chevy Cavalier. I tried simply removing that fuse, but that disables the left low/hi beams too for some reason.... any ideas?

The lamps on this model are wired in such a fashion that disabling one feature will disable all the headlamps. Why do you want to disable the daytime running lights? If you are having issues with the lighting, you should get a wiring diagram for the headlights, and investigate the wiring into the beams themselves, as GM has had problems with the wiring into them. There is one spot where the factory spliced the wiring together, and that particular splice is one that always corrodes, and takes out the lighting. Sorry, don't know the exact colour of the wire, or location, but very close to the headlights.

Your daytime running lights are a safety feature, and in any location where a safety inspection is required, I am sure it would be illegal to disable them.

you did not state why you wanted to disable them. if you want to disable them for battery run down purposes, such as sitting in the car listening to radio with car not running all you have to do is before you turn key on just put emergency brake on. lights will not come on.
