Yes I did. My best friend was supposed to be the maid of honor at my wedding. We had a terrible falling out not too long before (she didn't think I should marry him - now we are divorced maybe I should have listened) and I asked her not to come at all. The day of the wedding I found out that she had shown up and I refused to go to my own wedding until she was gone (I am a bit stubborn). Everyone told me she had left but really they hid her out so she could watch from the back. After the ceremony and reception she came out and blew bubbles with everyone while we left for our honeymoon. At the time I was really upset but it was my wedding day and I blew it off to enjoy the moment with my husband. For years after and even now my favorite pictures of the entire wedding are of my best friend blowing bubbles with a huge smile on her face...my only regret is that she wasn't up there by my side.

never been married... doubt that I ever will.
But here is my insight....
Congratulations by the way. By the sound of your dilemma I could guess you've been married for some time, but just the same I'm happy for you.
Sometimes you grow apart with the ones closest to you. It happens. No relationship is perfect. The joining of your life with another was a special time for you. It is important to have the ones you love around you and at that point in time you had the ones you wanted to be there for you. Sure, you may regret it now... but I believe that everything has a purpose. Even the smallest of events can have a huge impact on the future.
Just cherish your family, forget the past. That is why they call it the past... it's passed. Look to the future and forget the bumps along the way!
What matters is the beautiful country road your cruising on right now.
I wish you and your spouse all the best! :)
Best Wishes :)

I know I would have regretted not inviting some of the people my family and spouse wanted to come and share our special day with...but in the end it was my husband's and my decision on whom we invited and who was left out.
If your problem is with somebody that you will see again, like a parent, sibling, or close family member, then invite them but grab a friend or another family member that you trust in anything and everything (good idea would be your maid / matron of honor) and ask them to be your buffer for you on your special day. Tell them specific people would love to have them make an excuse for on why you can't be right there with them, and for others they become your shield of sanity when everybody wants to be near the happy couple.

Not inviting a parent / sibling to your wedding is undoubtly, not the right thing to do. No matter how heated the argument may be. But if you haven't spoken to them since decades ago then why should you regret over it?

I regret getting married in a hurry, we planned a tiny ceremony in about 2 weeks, and only my immediate family got to attend and I wore a bridesmaid dress. It was a beautiful little ceremony and I am happy we did it, I just regret not having the dress, the flowers, the reception..but I think we're going to have a vow renewal/wedding ceremony at our 5th anniversary.
