You ask is it Important. What you should be asking is should I question my Superior. The answer is yes. It's not important to, but it helps for you to learn more off of their skills, and also like you said right a wrong if the person in question is performing ill-responsibly, or otherwise just doing something that isn't beneficial. So yes it's important to question, but you must remember that sometimes the person in charge can be offended by people questioning their leadership abilities, or the action in question. So be careful.
Your call, just know you need to be tactful.

People, especially those in authority, always feel that they are always right... even if they are actually not... Sometimes they think they are powerful enough not to make mistakes. They have no other ways of looking at how things are working out at a different light, hence they're not leaving enough room for self-reflection and self criticism-anymore. These people are not giving themselves enough room to grow. When you question their ideas, you are actually making them realize that they need to change their ideas a little. You make them think that they make mistakes too and that their authority is not absolute. Example: When you question your teacher's decision of making the class take an exam which was never even taught or discussed to you. You are questioning her method because at a certain extent, it's not right. Exams are a measurement of what have you learned from what has been taught to you by the teacher, so if there was no lesson, there definitely isn't any tests at all...
Anyway, the thing is, there is a need to question other people's ideas because only could changes be initiated. Dialectics, remember? That's just it...

In an ideal world, government represents their people. Government, which is the primary authority in a typical civilization, should do what is in the people's best interest. Though, when the authority strays from that simple idea, it is the citizens, as a whole, responsibility to respond. People must defend their own beliefs of right and wrong, and challenge authority if it is necessary. Their is a delicate balance between power of the goverment (authority), and the power of the poeple (individuals not in authoritative positions).

Not to just question in the name of questioning. I would hope people remember that we "respect" the POSITION of Authority and should never FEAR the person or the power which comes with the position.
I would say you should always have it in your mind that it is your right and obligation to correct that which is not right- that should be limited on a subjective level as much as possible.
It reminds me of a saying, I think Malcom X, but am not sure... "What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right."
And the always true "it is easier to take the easy wrong over the hard right..."
Take from it what you will. never FEAR leadership, but you should always respect it. Look at the lawless leaderless nations of history and see what anarchy did for them. Any country or system of belief and thought which ever regained its footing had faith in leadership.
It's why we're supposed to have checks and balances.

I do believe most people in authority have an agenda of their own.
Too many of us don't become knowledgeable enough to learn all we can in order to form our own opinions.
I believe it is necessary for each and every one of us to , use common sense, our wisdom and knowledge in order to form our opinions.
We can't be so set on what our leader, news media, left liberals, the far right, etc. say that we become gullible and just be cause we are told how they think it is, does not mean that it is so.
Damn, we need to educate ourselves, so we can form our own opinion.
It is important that we will allow ourselves to change our opinion when we have all the facts.
Information is thrown at us 24 hours a day.
We need to be sure that we have the ability to sift through all the crap and kick it to the side.
Good question. Thanks.

if the those people are willing to listen to others opinion then its ok to discuss things with them. some are filled with ego that it will be impossible to give ur opinion. even if u are right they wont be willing to change their decision. then we will have to fight for it.
