With Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatening to keep the Senate in an all-night session over Iraq, it's worth considering what a Democrat win in the current legislative battle over Iraq would mean — and whether they really even want one.

Democrats celebrate, the troops are starting to come home, and then ... what exactly?

That's just it exactly, they don't have a plan. They preach to the masses like a hellfire and brimstone pastor behind his pulpit about "bringing home the troops NOW" to pander for votes on the anti-war sentiment train. But, when faced with the question, "Ok, then what?" their faces go blank and cloud over with confusion. They DON'T KNOW, and that's what scares the hell out of me.

I want them ALL to stop talking until they can come up with a better, sane solution.

When the troops start coming home before the job is done, the Dem's will be trying to say the slaughter going on in IRAQ is GWS fault. They just want us to leave with no idea what to do about the after affects. I went through that in my war when we surrendered Vietnam. .. I guess we did not learn that if you don't fight to win , then don't go to war at all. But I wonder how the Dem's are going to act when the war comes here.I in my old age am ready to fight but are they??

Our soldiers make sacrifices to protect our freedom. But that doesn't mean we should make them stay in a hopeless conflict, even if their might be negative consequences.

But really, we're going to have negative consequences if we stay much longer, as well.

Isn't that why Republicans are starting to back down on their support of the war?

some wars aren't win-able.
its not about wanting it or being against it and its no one's fault. its just a stalemate where our soldiers and the iraqi people keep getting killed until we finally come home.

to democrats the glass is always half empty they are always looking at the negative for our country. over looking the positive. they want to leave those that have helped us over there out to be murdered by the taliban and others that want to suppress freedom.

My question to you is; what is there to win? How do we know if we've won? What are our goals? What are we supposed to accomplish?

This war has NO meaning. It has NO purpose. The only thing it's doing is taking away from America billions and billions at the time.

who cares? Iraq wasn't really our "problem" to "solve" anyway

now - our presence is becoming more and more THE problem - and the way to "win" now is to know when to leave
