I don't know if they still send them out for free but Texas Department of Transportation gives them away free at border stations. http://www.traveltex.com/TexasMap.aspx

Usually you can pick any area map up in a gas station located in or near the area or state your looking for. That's what my hubby & I did when we traveled cross country to places unknown.

Just thought of something else if you want one sooner... Try asking on "craigslist.com" in the area your at. Possibly someone has one that they're done with...Also: yahoo(your)community groups, or yahoo(texas)community groups online.
