...subtitles (for the hearing impaired), instead of listening to the person talk, do you find yourself reading the subtitles?
I do...odd I know...

I do also. My attention drifts from the characters to the words. I find myself reading the subtitles and trying to keep up with the sound at the same time. It takes alot more energy.

Yeah, I always find myself reading the subtitles instead of actually listening and watching the action a lot of times.

yeah.....even weirder though is when they are in another language and what is said in the subtitles has nothing to do with what the person talking really said

I always put on the subtitles when they are available... it's amazing how you can pick up little subtleties you didn't notice before.

Yes ,I do that and it takes away from watching the movie.There are alot of things in movies that if you don't see,then you're lost as to what's going on.I HATE that!!

we cant help it
its natural...
and sometimes i have to consciously try not to read and listen to the freaking conversation! :)
