I remember as a student i wanted a place that sold snacks especially at night..not those twinkies and oreo stuff but decent sandwiches or some noodles or rice for the midnight hunger pangs.

Or else it should be a stationary place...i could just go over and get some paper or pen or stuff needed by the architecture/arts students (art supplies or glue)

also toiletries is good (soap/lotion/creams/toothpaste ect)

Or you could also sell computer stuff like printer ink, discs, pen drives ect..you never know.

you should be easily acceesible and it should be things students would need rather than want.

What do young travelers staying in a hostel need? Soap come to mind but probably wouldn't be a big seller. Maps to local attractions? Phone cards? T-shirts with a cute local theme? Hang out at nearby stores to see what they are buying or asking for.
