Probably someone who was tired of listening to all the name calling and infantile babble from the left. Besides it fits.

The first time I saw it was on here. None of the stupid names people coin to aggravate their opposition relate to an intelligent debate. But then again, the Yahoo Political section was never really intelligent or mature.. Over half of the questions asked here are ignorant attempts at bashing their opposing party or presidential candidates they "hate".

It was Bob! He lives at 123 Maple Drive and loves his conservative values and his speaking of the English language! He is awesome! He loves man and wife marriage, he loves merit system in schools, he loves corporate America thriving through hard work not government forced staff and payouts! He is a man that takes care of his own with healthcare, housing and living the American dream! He is my hero!

it was actually started by Conservative hate radio. Not that particular word, but the name calling and the hate. People have been listening to it for years and have added their own twist to it such as the thoughtful word you listed. Hate radio is causing more damage this country than people realize.

It gets rational people nowhere.
Sadly, there are many people who are not rational, and not capable of engaging in intellectual debates on the merits of an issue.
Name calling and mindless insults are all they have, so they parade that and shout it from the rooftops at every opportunity.
I truly feel sorry for them. And that applies equally to the trolls from both ends of the spectrum who do nothing but hurl insults and call other people names.

I think the word originated with 'contard' and was then, extrapolated upon.
I choose not to use the term, but fair is fair, isn't it?
