I hate the ipod and will neveer own one. I have 3 mp3 players, all from Creative. Two are the 40 gig Zen ones that play video (black front, white back - it was all they had at Best Buy) and the other is an 8 gig mp3 player that I have books on tape/cd on.

I have a 1 GB iriver. I love it!
The price was right, it has a mic, and I can change the tracks very easily. It doesn't convert the mp3's into whatever itunes does to them. When the battery gets low - I can simply change the battery ( 1 AA ). It picks up the radio great and has a mic so I can do digital audio recording whenever I need too!
As far as day to day stuff goes though, I do have a 30GB Ipod which holds most of my fav tracks + some porn. I call it my iPorn. Much more fun a name. It is black - like my heart.
