I have heard about people choosing to be gay/lesbian from some people. I think some may be out there but I personally am gay and if I had a choice, I would be straight.

No Sh-it. I love having taste, and I love how clean my house is, love that the women confide in me, but no ******** way would I ever choose to be gay.

It's so goddamn hard to be gay in this society. All the time, I brace myself for that random car with someone and his buddies yelling fa ggot out the window. I have to hear stupid gay jokes at work. I have to watch the news and hear the radio about how a lot of people think gays should go to hell. I have to listen to random women assume that I want to waste my limited free time and go shoe shopping with them. I have to fight for my human rights, my right to love and marry any person I choose, I have to pay taxes to support the married with kids tax break. If I died, my partner wouldn't automatically get my assets, but would have to fight a long and costly battle to get denied. I have to think twice about how I plan road trips, how to act straight in public restrooms, making sure not to make eye contact.

I love my boyfriend deeply, but NO, I would never choose to be gay.

The people who claim they choose to be gay or straight are playing a game. True sexual orientation is not a choice. You can pretend to be straight but the truth always comes to the surface. I understand why you would want to be straight; your life would be easier without the fear of rejection.

It truly is not a choice and we cannot change who we are.

Personally I choose to respect all people and look for things that we have in common. All people have good in them and we can all get along. People must try to get along.

First, the stereotypes must stop because each person is a human being. No two people are exactly the same. Second, the people who do the rejecting are missing out on some very talented, friendly, and caring people.

Hmm. Well, I'm bi and I'm not sure whether I chose or not.

I know women turn me on, and I know men turn me on. I'm not sure if I changed for a girl I liked when I was twelve and then became sexually attracted to them later, or if it's always been an innate thing, but yea.

I don't really care either way.

I think some people are born gay/lesbian and some people choose because it's the "cool" thing to do, example being emo/scene kids in high school.

I am gay and have been since I can remember being alive, but if I had a choice I still would be gay. You do not have to be gay to be happy, but I do not know too many straight people who are either. Smile and try to be happy anyway!

I don't think I would have chosen to be straight if there was a choice, I simply would have continued on that expected life path.
There was no fork in the road though .... more like I realised I was driving on the wrong side.

No choices here! I, too, would never choose to be gay in this time and place.

No, I didn't. I was raised in a strict Catholic home... think I'd've chosen to be gay?

I'm proud to be gay though, and wouldn't change it if I could. Not because gays are better (nobody is better than anyone), just that I am happy the way I am.
