Someone asked a question about how liberals resemble Middle Eastern men and it got me thinking about how much in common the Rethuglicans have with some Middle Eastern countries in respect to the rights they think women should have.
When Bush reinstated the Global Gag Rule, missions of women around the WORLD started DYING from it. All for even just MENTIONING abortion.
How is that any different from stoning women for doing something the men don't like?
Why do Rethuglican men (and some Democratic men too) think they should have ANY say over what women do with their own bodies? Where does that kind of arrogance come from? Our culture. And it's the same with the middle eastern men's culture. They grow up priviledged.
The Rethuglicans think women should DIE for even mentioning abortion. If you are a Republican, you support these needless deaths.
What do you think?

Cosmic, you are sorely misinformed if you think the president can't do things the Congress doesn't like. You need to go back to school, buddy.
Thanks for your "wisdumb", asshat mcpoop. i suppose you'll say I'm name-calling when I call you the name you use for yourself now.

Zoo Station, if you're so concerned about the welfare of children, why are most of the questions you answer like "What makes a kiss sexy?" I didn't see any concern from you about the children that are brought into the world in poverty because arrogant, patriarchal men like you think they have the RIGHT to tell women how to live their lives.
You are nothing but a pro-birther. You're see-through.

Zoo Birther, this isn't about your penis. Why would I care who you think is hot or butch? Why do you think that what your penis likes or doesn't like has anything to do with this question?
Why do you feel that your penis is so all-important?
It's not. That's why you sit on yahoo answers with Rosie and her sisters answering questions about "sexy kisses". You're so see-through.

Again, Bryan, women are dying all over the WORLD just for MENTIONING abortion and that has been supported by both Bush AND Reagan. If you voted for either of those fools, you have women's blood on your hands.
I looked over your profile and I don't see anything about you caring about the millions of children than have been born in poverty. You only care about the blastocysts in the womb, then eh? See through. WAY too see-through. I could maybe see your point if you showed ANY caring toward poverty-stricken children but you don't. You just want to control women's bodies.

The GOP is an Old Boys Club. Women, to them, are baby producing, home makers like June Cleaver.
I, for one, don't have any allusions of having the right to tell a woman what to do with her uterus or what's inside it.

Well, what i think is that most republicans we see today aren't really republicans, but rather vicious praying mantises who live off big profits from outsourcing hundreds of american jobs to 3rd world countries.
I don't think though that (real) republicans want women to DIE for so much as mentioning it; after all, it would defeat the purpose of anti abortion. Thank god we can live in a country where we are safe from that.
What I don't care for though is that you happened to make us A or B. Not all republicans are anti abortion, even if it seems like a qualification requirement. Just like many democrats can be anti abortion as well, such as the old southern democrats.
You are right, people should be able to do whatever they want with their body, even if it winds up killing themselves.
The new law in Ohio invades employees' rights to smoke--even at home! The employers can fire them even if they only smoke at home. Now while i believe this has more to do with cutting costs for insurance, this is still an invasion of privacy.
Same with abortion... well in a certain way. If you wanna get knocked up at a party when you're drunk one night, fine... go ahead. But keep in mind when a woman becomes pregnant, that is a baby... a baby... a baby... lemme just say that one more time, a baby... Now smoking can danger other lives if you happen to be around others. Sticking a knife in the back of babies' heads isn't too far off.
Are you for euthanizing stray dogs because it isn't wanted?
Now I'm not sure why you say republicans want to control women, many WOMEN happen to be republicans too. I'm all for women's equality but men can't really shove a knife into a newborn's skull and then vaccum its brains out, so it really ain't "fair" either way you slice it (no pun intended).

All great civilizations in history crumbled not long after their moral fiber started to rot. Look it up. As someone who has been on both sides and in the middle of this issue, I can only say that if one does not want others telling her what to do with her body, she should abstain from doing those things that would put her in the crosshairs. Abortion is not birth control. Take a pill, use a condom, masturbate. However, I do agree with you about no men getting into this unless they are the father. They cannot possibly know. This is not limited to Republicans, so it seems grossly stupid to label them that way.

?? WHAT does "how liberals resemble Middle Eastern men" got to do with controlling women? That has got to be one of the most twisted statements I've ever seen. And when you start saying how bad Republican men are "(and some Democratic men too)", I've got news for ya honey, that's being just as sexist as you claim they're being.
And as for the why do "men think they should have ANY say over what women do with their own bodies", i've got more news for you, it isn't about you. No, I'm not saying that when women get raped or when the pregnancy is threatening to their health they should get an abortion, i'm saying that women don't need to be using abortion as a frickin birth control pill. There are always consequences of your actions. If you don't want to take the consequences of having sex, then you need to learn to keep your legs crossed. THAT is a needless death.
Remember, whenever you point a finger at someone there are three more pointing back at you.

I don't think Republicans want to control women. I am a Republican & a woman. My husband is a Republican, he doesn't want to control women. Republicans are Pro-Choice, because it is part of their belief that all life deserves to live. I am personally on the fence with this particular issue. On one hand I believe we all have the right to choose, but at the same time, I wouldn't have an abortion myself.

I'm a Republican and I don't think women should die for mentioning abortion. Healthy public debate is necessary for either side to represent their ideas.
You're still name-calling, so I guess that shows where you stand in the scope of progress.

Oh no, I completely agree. Women should be able to do whatever they want to their own bodies. But not to the body of her child. You probably support allowing abortion in even the 9th month of a pregnancy don't you? Then let me ask you this:
Do you think killing the baby should be allowed after it is born? What if the government were to give women the right to kill her baby for up to 1 week after it is born? Or for up to 1 month? Its ridiculous.
I support abortion in the case of rape, incest and a threat to the mother's life. I hate this notion that "women have the right to choose." That choice should be made before the woman opens up her legs, not in the 7th month of her pregnancy.
And since you believe that it is all the woman's choice whether to have an abortion or not, let me ask you this. Why should the father have to pay child support in a case of a single mother? Not that I am completely against the father paying child support, but seriously, you feminists have to stop thinking about yourself. Nobody is thinking of you, it is about the child.
By the way, cheers to the women who are pro-life. It shows that you are not a radical feminist who can't find any other way to get attention from men other than by making ridiculous radical arguments. Thats why I love Patricia Heaton. She's pro-life and a loving mother who is not afraid to admit that she likes to stay home sometimes and take care of her kids. I know that feminists hate her because of this. Too bad, Patricia Heaton is hot and you feminists are butch.
EDIT:
True Patriot: You make no sense. So what if I answer someone who asked the question "What makes a kiss sexy?" What does that have to do with anything??? Just because I answered that question means I am a phony???
Secondly, why do you assume that children are brought up in poverty because of men??? There are children who grow up in poverty because of bad parenting from BOTH mothers AND fathers. And just because I don't devote most of my time answering questions about children in poverty means that I shouldn't be able to be against abortion.
Thirdly, its not about telling women how to live their lives. It is about prohibiting abortion because it ends SOMEONE ELSE'S life.
Finally, yes I am pro-life, or pro-birth, whatever you want to call it.

I to disagree with you there. Conservatives have far more respect for women than liberals do. To us, women represent beauty, virtue, compassion, and are the givers of life. To liberals, the idea of femininity in a woman is outdated and oppressive. Motherhood is a nuisance - an unfortunate obstacle that must be overcome. Gender lines must be blurred or eradicated completely. not the To liberals, women are just a means to their political ends.

Nobody should die for mentioning abortion.
Women should have the right to pursue pregnancy.
I don't believe people have the right to choose the consequences of their actions.
Abortion as birth control is very wrong. The pre-born child has a right to life. It can't protect itself, so society must protect it.

How can you compare abortion to the horrible treatment women receive in Islamic countries? Women over there are treated like animals. Men are allowed to beat women, they are stoned to death for infidelity, and are punished for simply leaving their homes without a male relative escort. Not to mention, they aren't allowed access to education. Where is the comparison?
