I copied this from someone else;
Press and hold down "Alt" button then press the corresponding "Number" on the Numbers Keypad, Release "Alt" button and the Symbol will appear. To get these Symbols:
Alt 1 ☺
Alt 2 ☻
Alt 3 ♥
Alt 4 ♦
Alt 5 ♣
Alt 6 ♠
Alt 7 •
Alt 8 ◘
Alt 9 ○
Alt 10 ◙
Alt 11 ♂
Alt 12 ♀
Alt 13 ♪
Alt 14 ♫
Alt 15 ☼
Alt 16 ►
Alt 17 ◄ = alt ..hold the key then 1 .release then 7 then release alt..but you need to use the numbers on the keypad
on right side of your keyboard

alt+3...thats the dumb way. Go to start--> Programs--> Accessories--> System Tools--> Character Map. Scroll down until you find the one you want... whether its âºâ¥âªâ«â£ or even â, click on the character, click select, then click copy, and paste it into whatever you are typing. Hope that helps.
