I personally don't believe in getting an abortion, but I did take a morning after pill once and my sister thinks I was wrong for doing that she considers both the same. Was I wrong for taking the pill should I have just let it happen? I already have to kids a 2 yr old and a 9 month.

Morning after pill is NOT the same as an abortion. The morning after pill is taken before the egg can implant. It takes the sperm a few days (like up to seven) to actually get to the egg and fertilize it, so even before that happens the morning pill gets rid of everything (the pill must be taken within three days of the unprotected intercourse). In most cases there is no fertilized egg, and the egg has never implanted itself into the wall of the uterus.
An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, in which the egg is already implanted into the endometrial lining and has already developed.
Two completely different things that so many are so ignorant about.
Wrong section for this question by the way.

I had the same thing happen to me, I am completely against abortion and ended up taking a morning after pill, once i thought about the fact that there could've been a possibility of a child being created before i took it i decided it was too much like an abortion for me to take one again but it's your body and your life and for the record, i do not consider the morning after pill to be the same as an abortion only somewhat similar

Well the thing about the morning after pill is you might not have been pregnant (or might not have become pregnant), and the pill sometimes works by keeping the sperm and the egg from meeting. However, if the sperm as already fertilized the egg then the morning after pill works by keeping the fertilized egg from implanting. So if you believe that life begins at conception there is a chance the pill essentially aborted a fertilized egg. So I guess the key difference is with an abortion you are definitely aborting a fetus whereas with the morning after pill you might or might not be. You mention what your sister believes, but ultimately what matters is what YOU believe.

Everyone has an opinion of when a life begins.
With the morning after pill you don't have a clue if you concieved. The chances are that you didn't.

I belive that a baby has a soul and spirit as soon as conception happens. Eveyone seems to have a different opinion of that.

You can't change the fact that you took the morning after pill. But, in the future just don't get yourself in the position where you have to take it again. because it sounds like you are not sure about the morning after pill. Make sure you never need to take it again.

I don't think it's the same thing. I personally think that abortion is wrong but would not have a problem taking the morning after pill.

Most anti-abortion activist believe that conception occurs at the time of fertilization. Not implantation. So by some its conscidered an abortion. Plan B- prevents implantation.

There's no way to tell if the egg was ever fertilized and this is something already in your past- so I wouldn't worry about it.

But, if you do not believe in abortion I would recommend contraception other than Plan B-.

I think that if the sperm had already met the egg (conception) and you take the morning after pill, that is an abortion. I only feel that way because to me it is an early abortion.

well some feel it is and some feel it isn't.

sometimes the morning after pill prevents fertilization but in some cases it gets rid of a fertilized egg.

The moring after pill gives you a boost of hormones so your body thinks it already pregnant. This is done before the sperm and the egg join. It is not the same at all. An abortion is removing a fetus. Dont feel bad, I have taken about 7 chicks in for the morning after pill. I do not believe in abortion either.

I have to be honest, you was right! the morning after pill is just that. just because the egg become fertilized don't mean that you had an abortion! if you would have gotten preg. and waited then yes I would t beat say that you was dead wrong because there was heartbeat there was no life to terminate.

Don't feel guilty you did what you had to do.
