Here here, cider!
I also believe that it's inherently in you... now classes can definitely bring that out even if it's minute, because I believe that some of us are skilled at some ascpects and not so much at others but classes help us to become more well rounded therefore those skills can be taught, but you have to be open to the process. It's not necessarily that anyone is bad (I'm debating with myself on that) but we've all had 'those days' in classes (or heaven forbid on set!) where nothing was working for us. In class at least you have a handfull of people who will hopefully be honest with you and say that things didn't quite work in that situation but be able to give you suggestions on why it didn't and what you can do to make it work next time.
Best of luck

Here's my take. You need a certain amount of inherent ability.
You need classes to develop that. I've seen lots of people who after years and years of training were still making rookie mistakes. They just didn't have it and never will. I've also seen people who weren't especially talented make huge improvements through hard work. IMO acting CAN be taught. But in order to get REALLY good you need to be naturally talented AND be trained.

The ability to successfully convey emotions to an audience is most definitely a talent. Techniques for the believable coveyance of emotions can be taught, but if one lacks the inherent ability, one cannot be successful.
That is not to say one cannot be Rich and Famous. Witness the pantheon of No-Talents destroying themselves and the very notion of Acting.
But I'm not bitter.

Yes it is. I was a bad actor, but now since I did my school Musical, I'm a good one. Just go to instant cast.com and try-out.

Yes... it is a talent but like any other art, practice can make it perfect. I am sure training will help.
