If Vick was smart he'd take a leave of absense before the NFL supsends him. But he won't because he's too stupid. Ultimately I think the NFL Commissioner will suspend Vick, and then pending the outcome of the FBI investigation the Falcons will eventually cut him all together. And while he serves 2 of the 6 years he is sentenced to, they'll still owe him tens of millions for the balance of his contract! This is what happens when a team builds it's entire franchise around a single player.

They would take an enormous salary cap hit, but they seriously do have to consider it. I can't imagine how this guy could be factored into the Falcons' long term plans if (and when) Vick is found guilty of dogfighting. If I'm Arthur Blank, I'm preparing for John David-Booty or Chad Henne to hopefully be the next Atlanta QB. Maybe that's looking way into it a little too soon, but how can Atlanta deal with that kind of distraction for possibly the rest of Vick's professional football career (however long or short that may be)?

Only if they can work it out with the league that cutting Vick wont kill their salary cap. I think the league should make a policy that if teams are releasing their players for off the field actions they should not have to receive cap penalties for it. Releasing Vick would really hurt the Falcons financially right now.

Yes he should be cut. This latest charge isn't his first one. I feel that he gives all the NFL players doing good things with their God given talents a bad rap.
They found 55 dead dog carcus buried on his property I believe. But, come on.....for the most part we haven't just bought our first ticket on the Merry Go Round. Do you really think that he had no idea what was going on and isn't it convenient to blame his brother. He was with his brother the time before this latest charge. Yes, many times the media will pull the guilty until proven innocent card.
I just feel that extremely bad behavior should never be rewarded and wrong is just plain wrong.

Sh** the man was indicted not convicted. Innocent until proven guilty, that's how the system works. Besides they don't have anyone else at quarterback. The Falcons are in business to make money, and they need Vick to win.

They won't because the team will take a hit of 15 million dollars on the salary cap next year if they do.
