If this only happens when you put the car into reverse, it shows that the problem is in the circuit that runs the reverse (backup) lights. The first thing to look for is a worn wire, that is allowing the short circuit. If nothing is evident, try removing the backup light bubs, to see if one of them could be bad. Look closely at the bulb sockets, for signs of problems or electrical arcing.If the fuse blows with the bulbs out, then you know that it is either in the wiring harness or the backup light switch, usually located on the transmission!

more than likely you have a chaffed wire touching your turn signal wiring. Remove reverse light bulbs and see if it pops a fuse if it does start tracing your power lead back cause you just eliminated the ground of it.

I agree, but I'm just trying to be more clear - you have a short to ground in the wiring going to your backup lights. You'll need to find it.

most likely back-up lights - located on rear bumper or near license plate bad. usually clear plastic lens held on with two screws. wires probably messed up.
