Jackson and Clinton were the only two presidents ever impeached. I would say that indicates a bit about their popularity. Nixon probably would have been impeached and convicted if he hadnt been pardoned. So these are probably your top 3 candidates.

There have been some well-hated presidents in their times, and I don't know how you go about comparing the dislike of the populace at the time of one president to the dislike of the populace at the time of another.

Hmmm I'd say Lincoln, because of the whole race thing. Not that many people will say they "hate" Bush or Carter.

Carter. I was only 7 years old when he was president and I remember what an idiot he was.
EVERYONE hated him at the time. I still have no clue why anyone listens to him now, he was clueless then and is clueless now.
