The Falcon are looking for a quaterback but are not interested in signing daunte culpepper. Does anyone have an explanation as to why they don't want him? I understand that he had a terrible year with the dolphins but in my oppion he is still a terrific quaterback and at this point, the falcons should take what they can get. Am i right?

If Vick is suspended, heck why not offer Culpepper a contract. We all know Joey Harrington as a QB (though you can say he was playing in Detroit).

But I think I can also understand why they might not want him, as they might have the playbook set up for the QB to scramble around some to fit Vick's style of play, and with the bad knees Culpepper has, scrambling around defently isnt an option.

That makes all the sense in the world, yet the Falcons are yet to sign him. Some how Daunte Culpepper has gotten a bad rap and I'm not sure why. The guy has a ton of talent and he has produced in the future.

I think they'll wait just a little bit to see if Michael Vick's going to be alright, and then they'll sign Culpepper if things continue to look bad for Vick. They don't want to run the risk of signing Culpepper, and then hearing that Vick has been cleared of all charges and is ready to play. That would be one heck of a QB controversy, especially considering how much the owner Arthur Blank LOVES Vick. Imagine that conversation: "Michael, you know I literally love you like a son, and I give you special treatement, but I just signed your replacement, and now you're going to have to win the QB job like any other slouch on the team." Ouch...

Because they are dumping Vick because of character issues, so why sign someone who had a bit of a scandle when he was at Minnesota. That could really blow up in their face. I think Culpepper is a good QB, and not a degenerate, but I don't think they are willing to take a shot on a guy who had problems in the past.

Thank you! Thats what I've been thinking. Daunte is my main man right behind Young. Daunte in my opinion is better than Vick anyway. He CAN pass and is about the 4th best running QB in the game. Joey Haarington is okay, who knows he might return to being a potential star like he was a couple of years ago.

I think Culpepper is a great player. The reason why I think they wont sign him is because they already have a alright QB Michael Vick (I dont like him because of what he did to the dogs though)

You are right cause Culpepper is kind of like Vick as in his running ability. It would fit well with their linemen and their system too.

I guess they think he is too much of a risk with injury issues...Not like they should really worry about issues like that when they don't have any options because of their boneheaded starting QB...
