definately lady in white.. I love that movie.. no you tube link this time though.. all they have is a pilot trailer that uses completely different actors..
Note for the record.. In Neverending story he was not in a coat closet he was in the school's attic..

if it was a horror movie, then it was lady in white. an awesome older scary movie. but if it wasn't a horror movie, then it was probably neverending story.
