No, not if they carry American passports, how can they be Canadian? You can live in Canada as a permanent resident or illegal without Canadian citizenship. Places will hire people without work visas and numbers, anyway. You can even just make up a SIN and work at a restaurant, not that I would, but like they check, it is easy, you just copy one from a friend and collect the paycheques.

I was born and raised in the states and came here to live in 1963. I am
proud to be a Canadian and wouldn't live anywhere else. No dual
citizenship no passport and that's the way I like it.

I'm spending 6 weeks in Edmonton, and then I'm going to Newfoundland for a few months. Getting out of Bushland is a breath of fresh air; I wish I could stay.
