every four years I watch them and Politicians make promisses and nothing happens! I'm tired of hearing debates about healthcare, education, poverty, taxes, immigration, etc. ! Lets do something about our problems so we can stop debating!

Then don't vote for a political party because that is all you will get is promises.

I was just thinking this very same thing this afternoon. I also think the campaigns are analyzed to death. Focus groups, pollsters, think tanks etc. It's crazy. What a waste of money. Why can't they just go back to the days where you give speeches, let the American people ask you ANY question they want and give honest answers? Can you imagine if Hillary's handlers allowed a question about all of the women who have accused her husband of misconduct, whether she believed them or not. How would she answer that? Do you think she would be honest? We the people should be able to ask whatever we want without the media filter.

They're not really debates. At least not the current crop. The You Tube Debate wasn't a debate. It was a question and answer session in which not even all of the participants were asked to answer all of the questions. I think it was interesting to watch, but it wasn't a debate.

I'd rather hear what one has to say on particular interests, than to just merely vote on whom ever we "think" has certain ideas on any particular issue. If they lie, then we at least have something to fall back on when it's time to call someone on it. I'm voting for Ron Paul, because he seems the most sincere of the bunch. He doesn't seem to beat around the bush when it comes to debating.

Don't you get it?

If they solved these problems they'd be out of a job.

That's why they always say we need to spend more money on this problem or that problem, but never really intend to solve the problem.

Heck, the "war on poverty" has been going on for 50 years and there's no end in sight.

Now that's a war we should pull out of.

The debates are used to get people psychologically involved, and for the most part, its basically a personality contest.

Are these discussions relevant?
In my opinion, no, they're not relevant to issues of politics.
But truth is, only time will tell.

The debates don't allow for the clear exchange of views, all it is is 30-60 second sound bites of what they think we want to hear (way to go Joe).
