If your families' life depended upon a receiver getting open and never dropping a pass, which one would you choose? I don't think there is any other receiver that fits the category, but you can add one and state why if you wish. Personally, I think Largent was the best receiver of all-time, possesion or otherwise. Can you imagine him playing with Joe Montana? Freddy B. used all that pine tar to make catches.

Between those two, I 'd say Largent. He and Charlie Joiner were the two best possession receivers ever, in my book. Just their ability to make the catch when it was needed, no matter what.

But I agree that Chris Carter and Jerry Rice are unquestionably the best two receivers overall- look at their career stats. Carter ocassionally had a concentration lapse and dropped an easy one, but not often. And Jerry is in a league by himself.

Art Monk of the Redskins was a good possession receiver. I think I'd choose Fred B., but Steve Largent was good, too. I remember watching Fred B. play when I was younger. I think his nickname is WorryWart??? He was real, real good. There have been lots of good receivers. Herman Moore was real tall and could outjump anybody for the ball. He was really good for a few years for the Detroit Lions, but nobody even remembers him anymore. He caught over a 100 passes for a few years and was an AllStar.

Steve Largent because he had all the receving records up until Art Monk broke them. Steve Largent could still have them had he played for a better team. The Seahawks weren't very good back then.

Statistically, Largent was much better than Biletnikoff and is justifiably in the Hall of Fame.

Biletkinoff's clutch plays helped the Raiders win the Super Bowl over the Vikings, so he gets my nod.

Cris Carter. No doubt I would want him catching the ball if my life depended on it. Largent better than Rice? Either you live in the pacific NW, are a racist, or are on crack.

Raymond Berry was Johnny Unitas' favorite receiver. Old "Sticky fingers" was the best I ever saw.

Um, yeah, the answer is Jerry Rice. He's the all-time best.

But between the two you gave us, I'd take Biletnikoff, his Super Bowl MVP performance was amazing... And it wasn't him that was using tar, that was Jack Tatum.
