Anybody watching "The Bronx is Burning" on ESPN?

How accurate do you think it is? Yeah, I know it's a tv show, but I thought I could get a better response from baseball fans.

I think it's great, and somewhat accurate. But if you notice at the end of some episode's they tell both side's. But whenever you add an human element it's going to be somewhat inaccurate. But i like it, and there is stuff only baseball people would understand.

I stumbled across it and watched about three minutes -- the part where Steinbrenner talks to reporters with Jackson and Martin right after admonishing Martin in private -- and it was, I suppose, a simulated hand-held camera, like reporters sometimes capture when on the run, but it was so jittery and quick-cut as to be unwatchable. I'm older than the target market and have a real attention span, and that was just wretched filmmaking. So, no, I won't be seeking out future episodes.

The events that happen on the show can be seen on MLB archive footage...

But the dialogue between the players and coaches and media is most likely beefed up for entertainment value.

They show actual footage/interviews at the end of each episode that reinforces what you just watched.

I watched some of it, and my problem with such shows is that I know too much about the situation to "buy into" a dramatic story about it. I tend to watch such programs and say "That's not George Steinbrenner."

I prefer HBO's documentary approach. The one currently airing on the Brooklyn Dodgers is terrific.

I do, and it''s very accurate....watch it, they show actual clips from that time....and yes, all the things that they talk about actually happened during the time frame...Love them Yankees!
