When I went through "puberty," or whatever you want to call it several years ago, I had typical sexual attractions to the opposite sex. But within the past few years, I completely lost my interest in the opposte sex (or the same), and now I can't even have a boyfriend, because I don't want to make out or anything. I now think sexual activity is digusting and don't want any part of it. It kind of embarassing talking to my friends about it, b/c they just think I need to take a Viagra, or something, but I really wonder is I could be asexual.

Do any of you know much about asexuality, and do you think it's a legitimate sexual orientaion?

Hmm, do you really find sexual activity disgusting? Or do you find it that way because some people treat it so casually?
It is possible that you don't really hate sex. It can simply be that you highly value a sexual relationship with only a person that you are deeply in love with.

Most likely you highly value all the things that come first in a relationship. Therefore the sex part is far back in your mind.

People need friends. They need to be part of group fun and activities. If your friendship needs are left wanting it isn't likely you would be ready to rush into a sexual relationship.

If people don't plan on marrying there really isn't a need for dating. Of course you can have a boyfriend. If you don't rush into kissing you might find that when you realize that you really like each other and see a possible future together it could come naturally.

You could ask your Doctor for a blood
test to determine your hormone levels. If they are out of the normal range that could contribute to your lack of interest.

Yes it is. My cousin is like that and has been since her early teens. She's now in her early forties and has shown no compunction for changing.
You could just be going through a phase, or you could be having some legitimate difficulties. If you think you are, consider talking to a counselor or consulting a therapist about your feelings.
What you don't need is drugs. You need to find out if what you're feeling is something inside of you or outside of you.
Good luck. I really do hope you find what you're looking for.

Why yes it is. Sometimes, it could be either a medical problem, problem in life, or your just taking a break.

I was like that. For me, it was just taking a break in life from doing certain things.

That can be also influenced in an inbalance of certain things in your body, that limits sexual interaction.

Or something has happened to you that will prevent you from coming to situations or even thoughts like that. Either way, on your next physical or doctor visit, tell them about it, because it sounds like that inbalance thing I was talking about.

Asexuality, though quite rare, is a valid sexual orientation. See this site that I hope will help you understand yourself better, and see that you aren't the only one. Good luck.

I've heard of it. It doesn't seem to be very common, but I believe it is a legitimate orientation.

It's as legit as homosexuality, bisexuality, and heterosexuality.
