I start to wonder about the average computer user IQ now of these days. Yes it is a burner if it call DVD burner and if not it would call a combo drive and meaning by that it can play dvd but it cant burn DVDs but you can burn CDs. But if you got a dvd rom drive and a cd rom drive then you cant burn neither.

The DVD drive needs to be a DVD burning drive in order for it to be able to burn DVD's. Most DVD burners support CD burning as well, so if you have a DVD burner, you'll be set. Just make sure it supports both +- R for all media.

Cyber Superman, I'm wondering about your English I.Q.

A dvd burner can burn cds as well, but if it says DVD-ROM, that means it only reads dvds (doesn't burn dvds or cds).

I was confused, as well, when product descriptions began to only list DVD Burner under the specs. I wondered, too, if they meant CD/DVD burner or just DVD burner.... now we know : )
