It just makes it harder to read. Not sure if this is true anymore but in the early days of the internet, it was seen as shouting if you used all caps.

It's a lot harder to read. People have done surveys on it. The reason is that lower case letters have much more distinctive shapes, because they can go above and below the line.
So deliberately making what you're writing harder for people to read could be considered rude.
The other reason people think it's rude is the one already mentioned: 'all caps' is used for being loud and emphatic, so you're 'shouting'. Give the only non-rude reason for shouting at someone is to make yourself heard from a distance, which obviously doesn't apply online, all caps shouting comes across as rude.

Since you are not talking to a person face to face, using all caps gives them the impression that you are angry and shouting. The all caps, jumps out of the screen and calls out the attention of the person and sometimes they just take it negatively.

THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG IN USING CAPS TO SCREAM OUT YOUR MESSAGE AND EMPHASISE EVERY WORD - WHICH KINDOV HAS THE EFFECT OF DEMPHASISES EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME. IT'S ALSO USELESS FOR THE SPELCHEQUAR BUT NEVERY MIND. YOU MIGHT ALSO USE CAPS IF YOU THINK YOU ARE A ***VERY*** IMPORTANT PERSON, WHICH APPARANTLY SOME PEOPLE TAKE AS BEING RUDE, CAN'T IMAGINE WHY. PERSONALLY I HATE READING CAPS AS TO BE HONEST AND FRANK MY SEMI-DYSLEXIC SCANNING ABILITY IS FUNDAMENTALLY CHALLANGED BY LOTS OF CAPS MAY AS WELL GO AHEAD AND USE SOME COMPLEX FONT AT THE SAME TIME - SO YER IT'S NOT JUST RUDE IT'S DOWNRIGHT IGNORANT AND DISRESPECTFUL OF YOUR READER.
