If somehow we were able to detect the soul leaving the body at death, then at what point would we be able to detect a soul entering a fetus while it‘s in the womb? Would that point be characterized as the “beginning” of life?

It begins with the formation of zygote. This is the shortest and simplest explanation. Although each cell whether sperm or ovum is the smallest living unit. Anything living has life in it.

I'm not an expert. I only have a theory and a belief.

The beginning of life is the start of blood cells.
I only say this, because it is thriving and functioning.
The question is...............
This isn't a thorough life, it's a functioning.

An Ameba is a life form, so what is an Ameba's function?
By no means do I support pro-life.

My thoughts are the cells must be qualified prior to a soul hanging out inside a womb.
This is when I characterize a functioning life. A child without lungs and other organs, that cant sustain the world, suffers a poor quality of life.
I read somewhere that prior to our spirit officially coming to form, we are predestined centuries before, that we are already appointed to whom our Mothers and Fathers are to be.

The beginning of "Life" or is it "Functioning Life".....it's like an egg being hard boiled or soft boiled or fried or scrambled....it's still an egg. But it doesn't have a function until it is completed.
(in relationship to human beings)

Baby's while forming in the womb, they are acting on instinct. When babies are first born, do not act on intelligence.
They react on nature's instincts.
They don't know "who" or even if they are a "who". The baby over days acquire as it's body and mind gains maturity, then becomes into it's own.
They begin showing signs, by opening one eye and suspecting that they are not alone in a womb universe any longer.

It is obvious that you do not understand the continuous journey from gamete to birth. For instances, how would you explain the soul(s) of monozygotic twins. Do they share? I suggest you try to approach the problem from a scientific perspective and leave this " soul " delusion behind.

awsome question ! I think the soul of a human being enters the body at conception. as soon as the egg of the female is fertilzed, a baby is beginning it's life from then on.

Wow, good question. My opinion is not when they are born (cuz they are already alive inside womb) my answer is.. either when a heart starts beating, or.. when the two gametes (egg and sperm) join to form a zygote. the cell itself is alive but i guss the actual answr would be when that cell develops a heart/brain and heart beigns to beat

I think biological life begins at conception. Spiritual life begins with the first breath. This is MY opinion. Hope this helps.

Great question. How do you know the spirits we feel around us are dead? What if they are the ones who will be coming?
